OK to better explain these pictures I will first introduce you to my all time favorite photography and teacher. Her name is Nicole Hill (well actually I don't know what it is, she just got married last week!!!). She is just a little younger then me but has been obsessed with photography since she was very little. She is amazing! and so very creative. Check out her blog and you will get an idea of why I love her and her work so much.
http://www.nicolehill.blogspot.com/She and her husband will be moving to San Francisco in January and I cant wait to take advantage of her. The Budges have already booked her for a photo shoot of the kids. And if I do decide to ever get married I can promise i will do whatever it takes to make her my photographer...does that help explain my obsession???
OK so onto some of my photos:
We had to go up to a stranger, in his/her element and photograph them. Well if you know me and my anxieties you know this was no easy task. So I drive past this guy everyday on my way to work, I got the nerve up, jumped out of my car and asked if I could photograph him. He was HILARIOUS!!! I was too anxious to ask him if I could cross the construction line so his face is a little too shadowy, but this is my new friend. He no longer works on my commute path but I give tribute to him and his strength to stand in the sun all day!
My next project was to take pictures at sunset. The first I had to have the person in focus and completely blow out the background. My roommate was sweet enough to step in as model and here are the results of the blown out shot...
And here we have the sunset with her completely dark. It was actually a lot of fun and when you see the results it makes the f/stop frustration worth while!
This last picture was a lighting project. We used bounce boards and natural window light. Not the most exciting picture but I love it. I think it is kinda cool...and I promise I don't say that about my own work very often!
